Frequently Asked Questions
When and how did All Records begin?
All Records began in the winter of 2002 in a basement of a townhouse in the heroin capital of Central Pennsylvania (Duncansville, right outside of Altoona). Being as I (Alex) was probably the only one in the county not partaking in drug abuse, I was bored and decided to help out a couple friends\' bands. The ironic part is, I never ended up putting any of those records out. All Records is now based out of my house in Monroe, NJ (right smack between New York and Philadelphia).
I see that you only really promote SOMEDAY NEVER now. What happened to TWILIGHT CITY FRACTURE and SCARS TO PROVE?
Our first release was originally supposed to be an EP from Steve Banack\'s band, Years Spent Cold. When recording was taking a little longer than planned, the band and I decided that doing a split with their friends, Twilight City Fracture, would be a good idea. Unfortunately, YSC\'s end of the split ended up being scrapped so we just put the four TCF songs out as an EP (hence it being so short). So our deal with them was only for that one release. We were in talks to do more but decided it was better that we didn\'t. We sill love those guys and wish them all the best. Scars To Prove, on the other hand, broke up only a couple weeks after we released their debut album.
I heard on AbsolutePunk.net that Alex is a douchebag cock asshole guy and loves teabagging young children. Is this true? If it is true, what is his number?
I really try to be the nicest guy as I can to both bands and fans and guys named Stan but for some reason, everything thinks I\'m an asshole. For the record, I have challenged people who talk shit about me on zine sites to explain what I ever did to them and they have either since admitted they were wrong or misunderstood something or they never even bother to make up an excuse. Don\'t get me wrong, I really could care less if people badmouth me if I did something wrong or if I was an asshole. But I don\'t like being called something I strive so hard not to be and to be called it without proof to back it up.
Are you guys signing any more bands right now? Where can we send a press kit? Can we give you links to our MySpace (and/or PureVolume)?
Right now, we\'re concentrating on this upcoming Someday Never EP. We have some amazing things in store for it. After that, I think we already have been narrowing down who we want to work with. So I guess the answer to that is, we have our plate full. That\'s not to say we wouldn\'t love to hear your stuff. We love checking out new bands. You can send a press kit to:
All Records
Attn: A&R
302 Elmira Trail
Hopatcong, NJ 07843
This address is for press kits only. For all other correspondence, use the address on the contact page of our site.
As for listening to stuff online, we cannot. We don\'t really have the time to and plus, it shows a lack of effort on your part (no offense). If you really want to get people to notice you, get a good bio together, a good demo CD and some press shots. Reviews of your demo doesn\'t hurt either. However, if we don\'t get back to you, don\'t take it to heart. It just means we don\'t want to work with your sorry ass at this time. That doesn\'t mean you\'re not awesome and wouldn\'t be a great fit on a different label. Never ever become one of those bands who gets all depressed because they aren\'t signing to a label after being a band for six months. Perserverence (and hopefully spelling that word right) is the key.
Where can we buy All Records stuff?
Online, you can buy our stuff on
our webstore,
SmartPunk,
InterPUNK,
Amazon.com,
BestBuy.com,
VH1.com and a bunch of other places. You can also download our releases on services such as iTunes, Napster and eMusic (but for some reason there is a lag time of a couple weeks to a couple months in getting the releases on there, we\'re working on it).
We will appreciate it, however, if you are going to make a purchase online, if you do it through our webstore. You\'re supporting the band and the label more, and you\'re also probably saving yourself a couple bucks.
In real life, you can pretty much walk into any record store (FYE, Coconuts, your mom and pop shop, etc.) or electronics store (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.), and if they don\'t have it in stock (which definately isn\'t out of the realm of possibility, we\'re still a pretty small label), you can ask the clerk to order it from any of the one-stops. They\'ll know what you\'re talking about and you look like you know what you\'re talking about in the process. Win-win situation.
How can I help you guys out?
We will definately be updating both this profile and our site (
allrecordsonline.com) with more information on how to help us out in the near future.
