Hey guys, how are you doing? I'm Nick. I'm 15, and I absolutely love music. Its gotten me through many many hard times. I love lots and lots of bands, i've lost count, maybe at least 1000 or so. I love bands such as Social Distortion, The Misfits, Calabrese, Rancid, Breathe Carolina, AFI, Alexisonfire, Circle Jerks, Operation Ivy, The Ramones, Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, The Damned and so on. I am Straight Edge (feel free to ask what Straight Edge means), and I was influenced by the bands Minor Threat and Casey Jones. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but i hate emo and scene, its really stupid, so don't bring it up with me. I am interested in getting a lip piercing, but what I really want is tattoos on my arms, hands, and knuckles (maybe the neck). Anyway, I love going to shows especially at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, Slims in SF, and the Fillmore in SF, and many more. Its kinda hard to make me smile, but that doesn't mean I don't like talking or laughing or having a good time. And I absolutely hate smiling in pictures. I love meeting new people. I hate hardcore dancing, Myspace, and Facebook. I LOVE my Ipod, my sunglasses, my hat, and my friends that i fight with everyday. My lucky number is 13, I don't see how it's unlucky.
I would love to become a pro soccer or tennis player. I am interested in psychiatry. Helping people with mental problems or any kind of problem really, i just love to be of help. Psychiatry has been something I found very interesting and I love to study it even further. So if you need help or anything, know that I can try and help. I'm always with my friends playing a game of soccer or you'll see us kicking each other's asses (we find it entertaining). When I'm relaxing, I would be listening to music, taking a walk, or usually meditating. Been meditating close to 4 years now, and I just love it. I also like doing something, that I call "street drumming". I take just go on a walk with some friends like in town or the city, and I bring some drumsticks with me. While walking, i'll make beats with anything: fountains, dumpsters, garbage cans, tiles, metal poles, fences, etc. I've also made quite a few of my own shirts. I usually have the word "Thirteen" written on my knuckles and a heart with the initials SP on my left hand (SP stands for Smashing Pumpkins)

Everybody is beautiful in their own way. So people, don't let some fucker out there at work, school, or wherever get you down. Be yourself, know that you're the best, and don't let people walk all over you. Seriously, do not change for anybody, be yourself.

Straight Edge
Alright for many of you who don't know what Straight Edge means its a lifestyle. Its my lifestyle. I'm Straight Edge. I've been keeping clean for close to 2 years now, and I don't tend to stop being Straight Edge. It was originally a song by Minor Treat(amazing band).
Straight Edge started in 1981 by the leadman of the punk band Minor Threat, Ian MacKaye. Being Straight Edge is not for joining a group or being cool, its that you chose to be Straight Edge because you think would be better for you. If its right for you. The leadman of Minor Threat, Ian MacKaye says, " I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't fuck. At least I can fucking think. You tell me it calms your nerves; you just think its cool." I decided to be Straight Edge because alcohol and smoking has effected my life greatly in a bad way. Alcohol almost separated my family. And my grandpa died from smoking, he had a stroke.
As Straight Edgers we don't: drink alcohol, smoke, and were against promiscuity. We are mostly vegans and abstain from caffeine. If you don't follow the lifestyle your an Edge Breaker. Please don't be one. As Casey Jones says, "Go ahead and X up! SELL OUT! Go ahead and X up! FUCK YOU! Now remember Straight Edge isn't a bunch a rules to follow, it your choice to follow it. Its a lifestyle to think straight for the rest of your life, and to follow your beliefs. Everyone: straights, bi sexuals, gays, Jews, Catholics, Blacks, anyone can be Straight Edge.
Alongside the band Minor Threat, many other bands have followed Straight Edge. These bands consist of: Casey Jones, Throwdown, Teen Idles, 7 Seconds, SSD, Limp Wrist, Uniform Choice, Cause for Alarm, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Judge, Bold, and many more. All these bands here I love, please check them out.
In some cities like Salt Lake City and Reno, they find Straight Edge as a violent gang. These kinda followers are called Hate Edge or Hardliners. Hardliners are very strict Straight Edgers. The prohibit anything sexual, their on a strict diet (only vegans), and a very violent, and are very Conservative. Not all Straight Edgers are Hardliners, so don't go judging us. I'm not a Hardliner.
We have many signs. The number '24' is a sign because the letter 'X' is the 24th letter in the alphabet. The 'X' is very important to Straight Edge. During the 80's, the band Teen Idles were doing a tour and were scheduled to play at Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco. The management found out that the band members were all under the drinking age. They were not able to play in the club. To be able to play they had to be given 'X's on their hands. The band wanted for all kids to be able to come into a club and see music performances without being served alcohol. So the 'X' became a part of the Straight Edge lifestyle. Then the other signs of Straight Edge is 'sXe' and 'XXX'.
You don't need drugs and alcohol to have fun.
